Choosing to end the life of a loved companion animal can be a very difficult decision. Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) provides a humane, painless, and dignified death for your pets and you are welcome to be present during your pet’s euthanasia.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are currently offering a limited number of appointments per day between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily.
Please email us to make arrangements with our staff for euthanasia or cremation services. You’ll hear back from us within 1 day of requesting an appointment if you reach out during regular business hours, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. daily. *PLEASE NOTE: Due to staffing shortages, it may take us longer than one day to hear back from us*
When we connect with you, we’ll set up your appointment and answer any questions you may have.
You are welcome to be with your pet for the procedure for no additional cost, or to leave them with our caring staff.

Has your pet passed away and you are not quite sure what to do next? We are here to help provide compassionate, caring service to you regarding cremation options for your furry family member.
We have partnered with Caring Pet Services of Los Gatos to provide exceptional, custom made urns for your beloved family members. Caring Pet Services also offers a ‘group cremation’ where your pet will be cremated and their ashes spread on private property in the Santa Cruz mountains.

When: First Tuesday of each month, 6:30 p.m. –7:30 p.m. via video conference. Please RSVP to Vicki at email@example.com, for instructions on how to call in.
Location: Due to COVID-19, this service is available via video conference and not on-site.

Anyone who has experienced a loss or anticipates such a loss is invited to attend the HSSV Companion Animal Loss Support Group. The group helps grieving pet owners heal the pain by working through their feelings of loss, anger, and depression. You may attend an unlimited number of meetings and are encouraged to return to help others work through their grief even after your own needs are met.
This service is provided at no fee for our community, however, we welcome donations to help provide life saving services for our animals here at the shelter.
