New $10 Million Multi-Year Investment in Humane Society Silicon Valley from the Detkin Family
We’re excited to share the news! HSSV has received our largest donation to date – a multi-year investment of $10 million from Michelle Oates Detkin & Peter Detkin. In honor of our donors, we’ve renamed our facility the Peter Detkin and Michelle Oates Detkin Animal Community Center. The Detkin family donation will help ensure individuals with pets can receive the access to care they need to keep their animals happy & healthy for years to come.
Preparing to return to work or school? Our Chief of Shelter Medicine, Dr. Cristie Kamiya, has tips for how to prepare your pet for life after the pandemic.

We’re no stranger to adorable baby animals. After all, we rescue approximately 4,000 puppies and kittens each year. But this month we reached new heights of cute when we sent a plane to rescue fourteen puppies in need of care, flying them from Colorado to our Peter Detkin and Michelle Oates Detkin Animal Community Center.
