Event Cancellation FAQs:
Q: I bought tickets. What happens to my purchase?
A: Your purchase will be honored at next year’s event if you wish to attend! Once the 2021 date is set you will be able to choose between converting your transaction to a 2021 ticket(s), releasing your 2021 reservation by converting your transaction to a fully tax-deductible donation, or receiving a full refund.
Q: How does this change tax-deductibility?
A: Please check with your tax advisor. Any ticket or table purchases that are donated rather than being used next year should be fully tax deductible.
Q: How / when will I be informed of the 2021 date?
A: We are in discussion with Levi’s® Stadium about 2021 date options. As soon as one is set, we will announce it here and via email and social media.
Q: Is The Fur Ball 2021 still going to be at Levi’s® Stadium?
A: Yes! And our friends at Levi’s have been very supportive partners, working closely with us to minimize the financial impact of cancellation.
Q: Is the online auction still going to occur? When / How will I know?
A: Yes, on March 28 we will launch the online auction via email and social media.
Q: How is the organization going to be impacted by the lost revenue?
A: Great question: The Fur Ball generates critical lifesaving revenue – about 10% of our annual funding. We’ll be inviting our community to participate in our online silent auction on March 28! Online gifts can also be made now to help offset event expenses we’ve already accrued. These and other fundraising activities will help ensure that the 6,000 animals that rely on our care will not be impacted.
More generally, analysts are projecting that nonprofits will be seriously and negatively impacted by coronavirus and its economic consequences. We hope that as a dedicated supporter of Humane Society Silicon Valley, you will continue to give generously throughout the year so that we can save thousands of animals in Santa Clara County and beyond.
