As part of our mission to save and enhance lives, we are pleased to offer free spay or neuter surgeries (normally $85-$170) for cats & dogs from select San Jose zip codes at our Animal Community Center in Milpitas or San Jose Animal Care & Services. We also offer free spay or neuter surgeries for rabbits from select San Jose zip codes at our Animal Community Center in Milpitas.
The owner must be a resident of San Jose and reside in one of these zip codes: 95111, 95112, 95116, 95122, 95127. Identification that proves residency must be presented at time of service (e.g. utility bill, driver's license).

Please note, if your dog is not immunized, he/she will receive an updated rabies vaccine and a Distemper/Parvo vaccine on the day of the surgery, free of charge. A further Bordetella vaccine is available at a discounted price of $20 (a $5 savings!).

Please note, all dogs must have received the Canine Influenza Vaccine (CIV) and must wait 1 week after their second CIV vaccine before they can have surgery. The CIV vaccine is offered through HSSV’s vaccination clinic. Each CIV vaccine is $35 and your pet will need an initial CIV vaccine and then a booster CIV vaccine 2-4 weeks later. If your dog has not received a Rabies vaccine or a Distemper/Parvo vaccine these can be completed at the time of surgery, free of charge. A further Bordetella vaccine is available at a discounted price of $20 (a $5 savings!).
