Volunteers Make all the Difference!

Whether they’re enriching the lives of the animals in our care, delivering resources to families in need, or supporting from home, volunteers extend our mission far beyond the walls of our shelter.

"The first time a visitor picked up a dog and said, ‘This one has my heart,’ I thought, this is it. This is what I’m supposed to be doing."

– Ellen, Dog Matchmaker

Blankets & Sheets Needed

We’re currently in need of large blankets and sheets. To maintain proper sanitation and keep animals safe, linens used in certain areas must be regularly disposed of, and our supply is running low.

Donations of large blankets and flat sheets (new or gently used) help keep animals comfortable while they’re in our care. Items can be dropped off in the blue donation bins outside the shelter during business hours.

Laundry Role (Temporarily Paused)

March 2026: Thanks to the incredible interest and support from our community, we are currently at capacity and are not accepting new Helpful Hands volunteers at this time. Please check back in April for updates.

Volunteers 18+ can jump in right away through our Helpful Hands laundry role. Register online, choose flexible 2-hour shifts, and complete just a 10-hour minimum. It’s a great way to support shelter animals — including for community service hours — while directly improving their comfort and care.

Double Your Impact Through Matching

Many companies, including Apple, Cisco, Google, Nvidia, and Palo Alto Network, believe in the power of giving back and want to support your efforts! By volunteering, you can maximize your impact- and yes, fostering counts!

"Pets bring joy and boost mental health, especially when life gets tough. I love meeting the animals and seeing how grateful their families are for our program."

– Jerry, Pet Pantry Volunteer
