Animals just do better when housed in loving homes – and it’s with this in mind that HSSV’s Home to Home program was developed. When you adopt through Home to Home, you’re choosing an animal that knows what home life is all about – and you can give them a second chance without them ever having to spend a night at a shelter.
By connecting fosters with adopters, HSSV’s Home to Home program expands our capacity to save lives beyond our shelter walls. Adopting directly from a foster home reduces stress for animals, gives each animal the attention they need and empowers foster families to play a key role in the adoption process.
How it Works
Adopting through Home to Home is a simple process that keeps pets in a home environment until they find a new loving home.
- Find a Pet – Browse available Home to Home cats and dogs online. Each pet’s profile includes details about their personality, current home, and adoption process.
- Schedule a Meet & Greet – Book a virtual or in-person meeting through the pet’s profile. Some pets are ready to go home immediately, while others may need a short wait for spay/neuter procedures.
- Bring Them Home – Once your adoption is finalized, you’ll receive guidance on pick-up and transition support to help your new pet settle in.
