“Their consistent generosity made a significant impact on countless lives, both four-legged and two-legged, over more than two decades.”
Beverley Ann Curtis lived a life filled with warmth, generosity, and a profound love for animals. Born in Quebec, Canada, in 1933, Ann (as she preferred to be called) made her way to California in 1961, where she built a successful 35-year career with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company.
Ann’s greatest joy came in 1986 when she married Charles C. Curtis II. Together, they created a loving home in Los Gatos, where they spent 35 wonderful years. Although they had no children of their own, Ann was a beloved “Auntie Ann” to many nieces and nephews. Known for her delicious homemade pies and her skills in sewing and knitting, Ann also had a passion for reading and became an avid San Francisco Giants and 49ers fan. Always finding ways to give back to her community, Ann volunteered at the Los Gatos library and St. Mary’s Catholic church.
Ann and Charles shared a deep commitment to animal welfare. For 24 consecutive years, they faithfully supported Humane Society Silicon Valley with annual donations, demonstrating their enduring dedication to helping animals in need. Their consistent generosity made a significant impact on countless lives, both four-legged and two-legged, over more than two decades.
Even after her passing in 2023, Ann’s compassion continues to make a difference. Through a thoughtful bequest to HSSV, she ensures that her legacy of kindness will endure for years to come.
Ann’s lifelong commitment, culminating in this final gift, will help provide shelter, care, and love to animals in need – a fitting tribute to a life well-lived and full of compassion.
