SPAY & NEUTER SERVICES

Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) offers affordable spay and neuter surgery for healthy dogs and cats up to the age of 7. We also offer affordable spay and neuter surgery for healthy rabbits. Surgery is by appointment only and includes take home pain medication. For an additional $5, we will trim your pet's nails.

SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT

Surgery appointments are available Mon - Tues, Thurs- Sat. Surgery drop-off time is 6:30 a.m. - 7:30 a.m. and pick-up is 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.

  1. Call or come in to the medical center to schedule your appointment.
  2. All dogs must be on leash. Cats and rabbits must be in carriers.
  3. Please let us know if your pet has any medical conditions, is currently taking any medication, or is aggressive with other animals or people.
  4. Optional laboratory tests can be performed on the day of surgery. Additional fees apply.

Regular Rates*

Dogs (Surgery pricing is based on the weight of your pet)

Cats

*Cats and dogs must have proof of vaccinations in order to be admitted for surgery.  It is recommended that your dog be vaccinated for the Canine Influenza Virus prior to surgery, but not required . If your pet is not current on their vaccines, these can be provided at an additional cost on the day of surgery. Additional charges may apply for any animal that is pregnant, in heat, cryptorchid, or overweight.

Additional services are available at the time of surgery. They include CBC & Blood Chemistry, FELV/FIV testing (cats), deciduous tooth extraction, and dewclaw removal (dogs), additional charges apply.

Things to do before surgery:

  • Fill out the Spay/Neuter Surgery Release form in English or Spanish at home if someone else is bringing in your dog.
