Amazing Animals Summer Camp

Humane Society Silicon Valley’s youth education programs remain suspended through Summer 2022. We are committed to keeping our staff, volunteers, customers, and students safe by following all recommendations from local and state public health officials. We will continue to post updates on this page as services resume. Learn more about changes all around the shelter here.

Since we know that animal touch is integral to our camp experience and is the main motivator for enrollments, we have not adapted our curriculum for remote learning. Looking ahead, we are actively planning on how we can continue to provide safe, fun, hands-on programming in the future!

Campers will learn a ton about the needs of animals with paws-on experience to boot! At camp, kids in third to eighth grade will have a well-rounded experience in animal learning.

Needs- based scholarship spots are available. Please refer to the Blueberry Scholarship information below.

Third –Sixth Grade Camp Activities

Campers will learn practical dog training tips, play therapy techniques, meet wild animals, hang out with pocket pets, and bring home arts and crafts to remember their experience. The best part? They’ll have lots of time to play and cuddle with the animals!

Seventh –Eighth Grade Camp Activities

Our middle-school students will get a full learning experience focusing on animal interaction and community service. These sessions are for campers who are ready to take on more responsibility and leadership in their relationship with animals.  (one “advanced session” available for returning 7th – 8th grade campers!)

$260 per child per session (advanced session is $275 per camper)

Register for Camp

Please be sure to enroll your child into the camp grade they are going into in Fall. Session A and Session B include the same camp activities and happen in different classrooms. If you are signing up with friends, please be sure all children in your group are enrolled in camp session A or B. All camps are held from 9:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. at our Carmen Christensen Education Center in Milpitas.

Camp week curriculum is similar, so please be sure your camper knows this before signing up for multiple sessions!

To Register: We are sorry this opportunity is not currently available

Blueberry Financial Aid Scholarship

Full and partial scholarships are given in memory of a very special Camp Counselor named Blueberry (Harry). Blueberry’s imagination, creativity, excitement, compassion, and silliness at camp helped hundreds of campers feel safe, happy, and important during their camp session.

To request a hard copy application, contact us at or leave a message at 408-262-2133 x268. We will let you know if your “Blueberry” has been granted at least 1 month before your camp session.

Blueberry’s family created the Blueberry Financial Aid Scholarship in celebration of his imagination, excitement, and passion for HSSV’s Summer Camp. This scholarship allows young campers to participate in this special program regardless of financial barriers.
