This class is designed to provide proactive training to: \nBuild your dog’s ability to pay attention in distracting environments\nImprove your dog’s ability to manage their arousal levels.\nProactively teach handlers how to keep their dogs from becoming reactive.\nHave dogs learn to make choices and communicate those choices to handlers.\nThis class is a great fit for those planning to participate in dog sports like agility\, but also for any handler of an easily distracted\, impulsive and/or insecure dog. This a positive reinforcement-based training class; food and toy rewards are utilized throughout the course. No makeup sessions will be offered. \nThis class is held outdoors\, in the dog training yard. In case of inclement weather\, including rain or excessive heat\, class will be postponed. In addition to not pulling\, we will also work on how to get your dog past distractions without losing their mind\, whether they are anxious or just super excited! We will give you the tools to continue this training at home to ensure your pup has great loose-leash skills and reliable recall! This class is not appropriate for leash reactive or aggressive dogs! Using positive reinforcement\, dogs will be introduced to jumps\, tunnels\, and other beginner-friendly obstacles. You will start simple sequencing\, learn handling skills\, and try short sequences with your dog. \nNose Work is a confidence-boosting scent game that taps into your dog’s natural sniffing abilities. You and your dog will be introduced to scent work\, odor identification\, and scent-based puzzles that help your dog think\, explore\, and use their noses in rewarding ways. Your dog will learn to detect a particular odor while building focus\, independence\, and excitement for searching. \nFlyball will introduce you and your dog to one of the most exciting and fast-paced dog sports. Dogs will be introduced to foundational Flyball skills including jumping hurdles\, triggering the Flyball box\, retrieving a tennis ball\, and returning to their handler.
