Momo and Mishi are currently under treatment for a Ringworm fungal infection. Ringworm is a common contagious fungal skin infection (not a worm). Momo and Mishi would need to go to a foster home together.

Signs: circular hairless patches, scaly skin. This infection can spread to other pets and people and would require specific isolation and cleaning protocols in a foster home.

Treatment: veterinary antifungal topical/oral meds; treatment often lasts weeks. The foster parent would need to plan on bringing a toothbrush with a sample weekly so that our medical team can monitor the ringworm infection and treatments.

Housing: Animals with ringworm must be kept in one easy-to-disinfect room (No carpet)

Cleaning: daily litter/food cleaning, wash bedding/toys in hot water, disinfect hard surfaces using Rescue (provided by our team)

Precautions: No contact with other pets and caregivers would need to wear personal protective equipment (gloves, gowns, shoe covers) when interacting with the animal

Time Commitment: 2-6 weeks, possibly longer depending on the severity of infection.
