It is recommended to directly transport all injured wildlife to the Wildlife Center of Silicon Valley (WCSV). If WCSV is closed, Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) will accept select wildlife until the animal can be safely transported to WCSV.

If you find injured wildlife, we recommend you take the following actions to help—

  1. Wildlife Center of Silicon Valley (WCSV) can provide immediate care to all injured wildlife. You should directly transport any injured animal to WCSV, so that it may receive immediate care.
  2. If WCSV is closed, HSSV can accept animals that are small enough to fit in a cardboard box (no bigger than 11 inches in height and 19 inches deep). If the animal is stable, it will be transferred to WCSV for care.
  3. If the animal is not injured, it should not be picked-up and transported.

Please call WCSV if you have concerns with a non-injured wildlife animal or a large injured wild animal that cannot safely be transported in a small cardboard box.
