Foundation Course in Dog Behavior & Training

This 40-hour series meets Sunday afternoons and is perfect for those with a busy schedule!

Classes are delivered in a relaxed and engaging atmosphere. They include lectures, videos, and demonstrations with dogs. Students’ dogs are welcome to attend most classes.

In this foundation course, you will learn about:

  • The theories on the origin of the species and its progression to the variety of modern dog breeds
  • Interpreting body language and communication - we’ll discuss the senses, capabilities and emotions of dogs
  • Using the natural social structure of dogs to enhance the human/dog relationship
  • Developing observational skills to predict canine behavior
  • Safe animal handling skills
  • How to asses dog behavior to maximize appropriate placement with potential owners

The cost is $850.00. If full payment is not made at time of registration, a non-refundable deposit of $100.00 is required to reserve a spot and full payment will be due no later than 1 week prior to the start of the course.
