Is your company looking for a way to get involved in the community? HSSV’s Corporate Volunteer Program provides corporate employees with a teambuilding experience that makes a difference in the lives of homeless animals. During a corporate volunteer half-day, typically from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm on a Wednesday or Thursday, employees receive a tour of our Animal Community Center*, roll up their sleeves to complete a group project, and -- as a reward -- spend time playing with some of the dogs and/or cats in our care! Depending on the season, examples of projects include sorting/folding laundry and color-coordinating our cat rooms, washing the windows or cleaning the glass in our many pet habitats, stuffing kong toys with treats, and grooming/brushing dogs or cats. PLEASE NOTE: Required group sizes are a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 20 people. * By taking the HSSV tour, Corporate Volunteer Half-Day participants who are interested in becoming individual HSSV volunteers have already completed the required PAW'er Hour, and are eligible to fill out a volunteer application. “A group of Intel employees got together and spent a couple hours lending a hand to the Humane Society Silicon Valley. As pet lovers, it was extra-rewarding knowing that the time we gave would in some small way help the animals of the shelter. The real treat of the afternoon came when we are able to socialize with some of their cats and dogs. My wife and I now volunteer as dog socializers and are loving every moment of our time that we spend with these animals.” -- Intel employee Tom Lloyd Call Bridget Keenan at 408-262-2133 x133 to schedule your corporate volunteer experience today!
