At Humane Society Silicon Valley we offer a wide variety of reasonably priced training classes, workshops and seminars for people and their pets! We believe training should be helpful, fun and informative in order to enhance the relationship between you and your pet! Our training philosophy involves force-free, positive-reward based methods and the latest that behavioral science has to offer! Our skilled and experienced trainers and instructors know that animals learn fastest and retain the most information when taught using positive-reward based methods. Through our training classes, both you and your pet will learn how to get those behaviors you want and how to eliminate those behaviors you’d rather not have!

 

 

 

 

 


Classes & Socials for Puppies

Puppy Socials
Help your pup hone their social skills and work on bite inhibition in a way you simply can’t do on your own! Drop in Puppy Socials offer a safe environment where your puppy will play with other friendly pups during that critical 10-16 week socialization window. All socials are closely monitored and supervised! Learn more here.

Beginning Puppy Training (a.k.a. Puppy 1)
Lay the foundation for a lifetime of good doggie manners! Give your 8 to 16 week old pup the chance to develop doggy social skills, to learn good bite inhibition and basic manners. Beginning Older Puppy Training (a.k.a. Older Puppy 1)
Start your older pup off on the right paw! Give your 4 ½ month to 10 month old puppy the chance to learn basic manners while you learn how to prevent problem behaviors before they happen! The perfect first class for your new older puppy! Learn more here.

Intermediate Puppy Training (a.k.a. Puppy 2)
Continue your puppy’s education as adolescence starts to emerge. Intermediate Puppy Training class helps keep both you and your pup on track as you navigate the often challenging “juvenile” period. Refine and improve your pup’s basic manners, troubleshoot annoying adolescent habits, and learn new skills for the dog you are raising. Mischievous Puppy Seminar

Beginning Manners & Obedience for Dogs (a.k.a. Canine Middle School)
An introductory training class designed to teach your dog all the fundamentals of obedience training and basic manners. Designed for dogs that are 5 months and older; this is the perfect first class for your new canine companion! Learn more here.

Rolling Beginning Manners & Obedience for Dogs
Do you have a busy schedule that doesn’t quite fit a traditional training class timeline? Then this is the introductory training class for you and your dog! Teach your dog all the fundamentals of obedience training and basic manners in a flexible, attend-as-it-fits-your-schedule format. Intermediate Manners & Obedience for Dogs (a.k.a. Canine High School)
This intermediate-level training class builds on the skills learned in Beginning Manners & Obedience for dogs. This is the perfect second class for your new canine companion! Learn more here.

Beginning to Manage Your Feisty Fido
Does your dog react by barking and growling at other dogs passing? Are you afraid that s/he would be too distracted or disruptive at a regular training class? This is the perfect class for you! Learn basic techniques to effectively manage your dog’s reactive behaviors. Specialty Adult Dog Classes

Canine Good Citizen Prep Class
This is an intermediate level training class geared towards taking the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen certification test that rewards responsible ownership and canine good manners in the home and in the community. Obedience for Dog Sports
This intermediate level training class designed to help dogs and their owners learn the skills necessary for beginning the dog sport of their choice.
