Valentine's Adoption Event - February 13, 2010

Our Animal Community Center was abuzz with activity on Saturday, February 13 with our 1st annual Valentine’s Adopt-a-Thon.  From 9 AM to 9 PM, animal lovers got to meet with that special dog, cat or rabbit they had their eyes on.  Foster Care dogs, normally seen only on our website, also joined in with in-person appearances in the Community Room for everyone to meet.  Many “love connection” were made, with 26 pet adoptions and many more in the works with appointments on Sunday!

Sponsored by Parktown Veterinary Clinic, HSSV’s Valentine’s event offered fun for everyone:  loads of dogs and their people ran with excitement in the sunshine at our dog parks, kids got their faces painted and helped make Valentine Cards for our pet residents.  Many pet owners enjoyed a Valentine’s photo portrait with their new and/or current animal and family members. Throughout the day,  attendees bid for exciting silent auction prizes, helping raise valuable funds that benefit the HSSV animals.  

All in all, it was an exciting, well-attended event for all!
