Come to HSSV to learn about and help the animals! Two classes are
offered, and you can take just the first session or both sessions!

Session 1: "Service Launch"
Description: In the "Service Launch" class, students will learn about all of the animals HSSV has cared for in its 81-year history, take a behind-the-scenes tour of the Center, meet a special animal guest, and learn how to make a difference for animals through fun off site service projects. Bring your parents or leave them at home as you take your first steps to becoming an animal advocate! You will be provided with a confirmation of volunteer hours or we can sign your school service forms.

Session 2: "Art as Service"
Prerequisite: Session 1: "Service Launch"
Description: In this class, you will get up close and personal with a special animal available for adoption and create a work of art that can help him/her find a home. No artistic experience is required, as we will show you that everyone is an artist!
Note: If you want to sign up for BOTH classes, you must take Session 1: “Service Launch" first. Session 2: “Art as Service" can be taken on any scheduled date thereafter.

How do I join?
It’s easy!
- Print out and complete the Animal Starz Application (one application per student).
- Send the completed application form along with your full payment (check, cash, or money order) of $20.00 (Option #1) or $35.00 (Option #2), payable to HSSV, which should be mailed to:

- Once your application and payment are received, education department staff will notify you within 3 days by either email or phone of your acceptance.

Please Note: If all Animal Starz classes you requested are full at the time your application is received, you will be notified and your check will be returned to you by mail.
Classes are subject to cancellation and/or reschedule if minimum attendance requirements are not met.
