Extended Care Match Fulfilled
A $500,000 match challenge for the Extended Care program has been completed, totaling over $1 million generated for this critical fund. Campaign Co-Chairs Sue and John Diekman issued the match for gifts and pledges of $25,000 or more, and are very pleased and grateful to fellow community members who reached out to meet the challenge.Sue Diekman says, “Along with their impressive shelter medicine program, Humane Society Silicon Valley has exemplary volunteer and educational programs, as well as progressive behavior and training programs to supply ongoing support to adopters. This all contributes to its impressive save and adoption rates year after year. I am a proud supporter of their work. It is an important cause.”
HSSV is dedicated to saving the lives of the animals in our community who need our help the most because of their behavioral and medical conditions. Our organization has the unique ability to provide extended care to these animals with challenges that, if left untreated or unmanaged, would hinder their chances of being adopted. We provide critical services for this at-risk population of animals, and in doing so, we improve the save rate of the overall Silicon Valley community and provide second chances to wonderful companion pets who might otherwise not be saved. Thank you to those you have given to this program which helps over 75% of our incoming animal each year.
